Félix Lab Strain Database

About the database

The Félix lab strain database is centred on nematode evolution. It gathers the wild isolates and mutant strains maintained by the lab, together with the tools the lab uses for the study of Caenorhabditis elegans, other Caenorhabditis species and Oscheius tipulae.

Oscheius tipulae is a free-living rhabditid nematode used as a developmental genetic model: its vulval cell lineage is simpler than the one of C. elegans, which makes it a useful point of comparison for the evolution of development. Most of the strains in this database are O. tipulae wild isolates collected from soil and from rotting flowers, fruits and stems in which Caenorhabditis are found in nature.

How to use it

Search the collection

Filter the strains by keyword, species or genotype, in strict (all criteria) or permissive (any criterion) mode.

Check the record

Open a strain to see its isolation site, country, substrate, associated reference and curator remarks.

Request a strain

Write to the lab indicating the strain numbers you need, what you plan to study with them and your full mailing address.

Requesting strains

Strains are distributed on request by the Félix lab. Please indicate the number of the strain(s) that you would like to receive and a brief statement of what you plan to do with it, and do not forget to include your complete mailing address.
